INTERPOL Stakeholders Collaborations to Tackle Trans-Border Crime

The Vice President INTERPOL (AFRICA) His Excellency (AIG) Garba Baba Umar Rtd received in audience Delegation from Center for Fiscal Transparency and Integrity Watch led by their Chairperson Ambassador Angela Nworgu, other members of the delegation include the center's Executive Director Umar Yabuku, AIG Zubairu Muazu (Rtd) and Mohammed Mustapha today Friday 25th August, 2023. During the visit, they discussed areas of Partnership to counter organized crime in Africa, this involves collaboration among various stakeholders, including governments, law enforcement agencies, international organizations, and local communities. This cooperation aims to address the complex challenges posed by organized crime, such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, trans border crime, proliferation of small arms and light weapons, wildlife trafficking, and cybercrime. As INTERPOL provides all the necessary tools for sharing information, intelligence, and resources, these partnerships can enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement efforts, improve border security, strengthen legal frameworks, and promote socio-economic development. Through coordinated action, the goal is to disrupt criminal networks, reduce the impact of organized crime, and create a safer environment for the people of Africa.
