Countering Organized Crime in Nigeria

Four civilians were killed and nine others were kidnapped by a group of armed bandits in Magami, Gusau local government, Zamfara state.

A resident in the area, Malam Ibrahim Abubakar Magami, told our correspondent via telephone at 6:00 p.m. Saturday.

He stated that the bandits opened fire on the community after they stormed the town and shot four people to death.

He added that nine people were kidnapped by the bandits. Those kidnapped included women and children.

“As I speak to you now, we have buried four of our people according to Islamic rights and we have ascertained that nine of our people were kidnapped, including married women and children,” he said.
